The Associate Communications team at Humana is responsible for leading and executing the internal communications strategies that drive positive culture change, create a connected experience for virtual and in-office associates, and sustain high engagement across the enterprise. The team plays a central role in inspiring Humana's associates to help our customers and communities achieve better health.

Against that backdrop, we are seeking a talented Communications professional for the newly-created role of Director, Associate Communications. In this position, you will lead a team of experienced communicators, ensuring that proactive storytelling strategies are in place to promote our brand, culture and employee value proposition (EVP), as well as manage risks. The Director works across the business, providing counsel and shaping communications objectives, plans and the resulting tactics and metrics.

This position is open for Work at Home nationwide in the lower 48 states or in any Humana office.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute internal communications plans that align with business objectives and the corporate narrative and position Humana as a respected, innovative and customer-centric health provider.

Lead a team of communicators focused on key aspects of our associate experience, including well-being, inclusion & diversity, and EVP.

Bring Humana's corporate purpose to life by integrating impactful storytelling, branding and data in our workspaces, both in-office and virtual.

Share insights and best practices for internal communications and create strategies that engage internal stakeholders, leveraging the right technology and data.

Partner with broader corporate communications team, peers and business partners to deliver integrated communications strategy that results in a simple, engaging and connected experience for employees.

Advise executives and business partners around internal communications strategies that drive positive culture change and engagement.

Key Candidate Qualifications :

In general terms, the ideal candidate will possess extensive (typically 10 years) experience in the employee communications field with a major corporation (i.e., Fortune 500) or name-brand agency. This person will be adept at framing and translating corporate purpose through stories and data in a manner that is relatable and motivating to employees and relevant to business priorities. He/she will also have advanced skills using O365 suite, including Teams and SharePoint. Finally, the ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field and a clear track record of spearheading the adoption of communications best practices and innovation.

In addition to the above, the following professional qualifications and personal attributes are sought:

Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools

Able to manage multiple businesses, issues and priorities, and able to shift to adapt against deadlines

Strong business acumen with insightful understanding of the industry and how communications can support strategy.

Proven ability to create and manage a high-volume of modern, integrated communication initiatives simultaneously in a complex environment, using all types of digital channels and learning new platforms quickly

Strong focus on continuous improvement and innovation

Passion for emerging technology and enthusiasm for engaging, interactive communications

Adept at data and analytics

Experience managing external vendors/agency partners

Excellent oral/written communications and presentation skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences

Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs, and influence and win their co-ownership in outcomes

Demonstrated leadership and management of cross-functional projects and initiatives

Ability to use discretion and possess exceptional judgment

Foster an open, inclusive and diverse community at Humana

MBA or advanced degree in Communications, Marketing, or similar field
