You should be familiar with personal finance in order to manage the eHow Money channel, but also be interested in contributing to content experiences across the site. We’re looking for a driven, enthusiastic editor who loves the idea of making dynamic, helpful content for real life. This position is located in Santa Monica, CA.   Responsibilities:

Own the overall content experience for eHow’s Money channel (including the creation and management of articles, slideshows, and video), and work with other editors to contribute to the management of other eHow channels as needed.
Create and manage the editorial calendar for the Money channel as well as contribute to editorial calendars for other channels.
Take responsibility for the quality of content across channels for which you have responsibility, including the Money channel.
Program channel pages (including identifying content, selecting images, writing headlines, and scheduling promotions).
Help brainstorm, develop, produce, and manage content packages to support branded ad sales.
Work with the social team to promote content though social channels such as Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. Actively contribute to these social media channels to build and nurture an audience for eHow channels.
Blog about personal finance in the Money channel and/or recruit and manage freelance writers.
Help innovate customer experiences across eHow by helping to brainstorm and develop all manner of content.
Work closely with Demand Media Studios on all aspects of content creation, as well as talent and expert management.
Track and understand content performance based on traffic and revenue.
Perform other editorial tasks and projects as necessary when required to support business objectives.

  Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications or related field preferred.
Four years of journalism experience with a strong writing and editing background as well as production experience with editorial calendars.
Genuinely love making content that helps people manage their real lives: Have the curiosity and energy to discover new and exciting topics both in personal finance and across the range of everyday experiences life.
Experience with content management systems, online publishing tools and basic SEO concepts.
Solid Microsoft Office skills.
Understanding of and familiarity with social media, especially Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter.
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Efficiency, accuracy, strong organizational skills, dependability and a keen eye for detail.
Familiarity with AP style or other publishing style manuals.
