The Role
As Communications Executive you will work within the Communications Team and report into the Senior Communications Manager. You will work with people from across the business on both external and internal communications, covering a wide range of legal and operational topics.
Strong working relationships are critical for this role and it is best suited to someone who can build rapport quickly. You listen to understand people's needs and problem solve to match communications tools with the objectives they are seeking to achieve.
Being responsive and prioritising thoughtfully and effectively will be key in this role, as will teamwork, flexibility and a roll up your sleeves attitude!
Responsibilities/Duties
Develop high quality written content including communications plans, press releases, quotes and corporate messages.
Liaise with people across the firm to identify, scope and deliver internal and external communications activities.
Act as the first point of contact for media enquiries, build relationships with journalists and liaise with the media to proactively place stories and comment.
Monitor current affairs to identify key issues which impact the firm.
Review and edit written material, ensuring all content is in the Mishcon 'tone of voice'.
Repurpose information from briefings, publications, press and other platforms to maximise the value and reach of the firm's corporate communications.
Develop and draft content for the firm's website.
Develop and coordinate internal communications.
Work with the Social Media Executive to create engaging and informative content for Mishcon de Reya's social channels such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.
Assist the Communication and Digital teams in the ongoing implementation of the firm's digital strategy.
Skills/Experience
Experience working in a communications/outward facing role
Excellent written skills and a keen eye for detail
Working knowledge of the media and experience of or willingness to pitch stories to the media
First class knowledge and understanding of social media
Organised with the ability to multi task and meet demanding deadlines
Personable, confident and articulate with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Resilient and calm under pressure
Adaptable and flexible approach
Pro-active and takes initiative
An interest in the law and learning about the law
