The Field Communications teams supports all employees in the field — through live events, meetings/calls, multi-media, launch guides, run-the-business writing, or full communication plans to deliver complex, cross-functional, strategic and/or transformational initiatives.
What is the Communications Associate Manager responsible for?
This position crafts run-the business messages for our field employees, while also acting as an associate editor for one or more field newsletters. The role must balance these day-to-day business needs while leading medium-sized initiatives.
This individual will support all field audiences, inclusive of communication planning, writing, editing, publishing and multimedia. This person is responsible for pulling the storytelling thread through all areas of the business, creating a holistic communication plan for all our audiences, and acting as a change agent to execute the plan. Graphic design and/or PowerPoint skills help tell the story. The working environment for this position is exciting, always-changing, dynamic and high energy.
This position will:
Work with partners daily to consult and provide communication recommendations and tailoring for run-the-business needs.
Plan and execute communication across businesses, capabilities and channels, encouraging behavior changes and forward motion on the change curve through communication tactics.
Lead medium-sized project as needed. With minimal leader guidance, gain project alignment, identify stakeholders and approvers and set appropriate timelines with partners.
Act as an associate editor one or more field newsletters, with full responsibility for the vehicle in terms of content, prioritization and audience needs.
Be nimble and prioritize daily work appropriately while balancing personal workload and offering support to teammates as needed.
Use available analytics to assess the effectiveness of individual communications and newsletters, then propose updates as needed.
Support an inclusive environment with a diversity of backgrounds, experiences and ideas.
People Management and Leadership
This role may lead people although the current opening will not have direct reports at this time.
Strong peer leadership a plus.
What skills will help you succeed in this role?
Strong writing, editing, proofreading skills are required.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills are required.
Ability to confidently converse and build relationships at multiple levels within the organization.
Ability to understand multiple points of view, then write clear and consistent messaging following Associated Press guidelines.
Experience communicating to a variety of audiences on a wide range of topics using multiple tactics.
Strong time management and organizational skills are essential.
Model growth mindset, demonstrate curiosity, creativity, flexibility and adaptability and suggest new ways of working.
Be comfortable driving work in a fast-paced, highly matrixed and ambiguous environment.
Provides the voice of the employee and customer to our business partners.
Required Qualifications:
3-4 years communications, public relations, marketing or related experience.
Ability to provide weekend on-call support a couple of times per quarter, sometime more during the holiday season.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (communications, business preferred).
2-3 years of Associated Press style writing.
2-3 years project management/coordinator or related experience.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office apps, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Suite, content/knowledge management systems.
Experience with targeted email/marketing software.
