Healthcare PR Jobs description
A PR or communications specialist can make an exciting career in healthcare. A PR professional working for a pharmaceutical company or hospital is often given the designation "PR specialist-healthcare." In this role, the PR professional will generate and implement marketing strategies and tactics to achieve the company or organization’s objectives.A PR healthcare specialist will create various promotional plans and outline the actions necessary for accomplishing those plans. PR professionals specializing in healthcare must develop and maintain good working relationships with the media, the relevant ad agency, and the given healthcare company or organization’s staff. A PR healthcare specialist also manages and oversees the proper delivery of services to clients, and educates and updates employees on healthcare programs and other promotional plans. These specialists also support the marketing team to improve the hospital or company’s image.
For these positions, a PR specialist with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, biology, marketing, journalism, or mass communications is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience in organizing/coordinating hospital events is also typically desired. Oral and written communication skills and good computer literacy are required.
