The Field Communications teams supports all employees in the field, including stores, in-home services, **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Business, **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Customer Care, Service Centers, Supply Chain, Home Experts and Geek Squad. The Field Communications team supports these groups’ communications needs—whether it be through live events, meetings/calls, multi-media, run-the-business writing, or full communication plan support to deliver complex, cross-functional, strategic and/or transformational initiatives.
This position provides expertise and input on run-the-business messages for our organization. The role must balance day-to-day business needs with small-sized initiatives. This is a fast-paced role working with cross-functional partners to deliver world-class communication solutions.
What is the Communications Senior Specialist responsible for?
This individual will support all field audiences, inclusive of communication planning, writing, editing, publishing and multimedia. With leader guidance, this person is responsible for pulling the storytelling thread through all areas of the business, executing a communication strategy for all our audiences. This position will:
Work with partners daily to consult and provide communication recommendations for run-the-business needs.
May lead small-sized project as needed. With leader guidance, gain project alignment, identify stakeholders and approvers and set appropriate timelines with partners.
Be nimble and prioritize daily work appropriately while balancing personal workload and offering support or assistance to teammates as needed.
Excel at understanding and tailoring messages based on vehicle and audience.
Execute communication plans across businesses, capabilities and channels.
Use available analytics to assess the effectiveness of our current communication approaches and propose updates as needed.
As an individual contributor, this person helps others feel understood, displays curiosity, seeks feedback.
What skills will help you succeed in this role?
Strong writing, editing, proofreading, presentation and facilitation skills required
Ability to write clear and consistent messaging following Associated Press (AP) guidelines across a wide range of topics and audiences
Candidate should have high level of emotional intelligence and be able to build strong relationships with partners
Be comfortable driving work in a fast-paced, highly matrixed and ambiguous environment
The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple communication initiatives at the same time with strong communication, time management, organizational and prioritization skills
Support an inclusive environment with a diversity of backgrounds, experiences and ideas
Required Qualifications:
2 or more years of experience in communications, public relations, or related experience
1 or more years of experience doing project management/coordinator or related experience
Ability to provide weekend on-call support a couple of times per quarter, sometimes more during the holiday season
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (communications, business preferred)
1 or more years of experience of Associated Press (AP) style writing
Graphic design skills for print formats
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office apps, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Suite, content/knowledge management systems
Advanced PowerPoint proficiency (use of Master slides, animation, etc.)
Experience with Act-on or other targeted email/marketing software
1 or more years Retail experience
